Info
This project began with a need for alignment. Rachel had built a ceramics brand that felt incredibly considered through the work itself, but the identity didn’t yet reflect the world she was creating. Her pieces are sculptural, textural and quietly expressive, and the brand needed to carry that same level of detail and intention.
A key part of the process was understanding how Rachel works. With a background in fashion, her approach to ceramics is rooted in building collections through colour, texture and pattern. Pieces are designed to sit together or stand alone, and the identity needed to support that flexibility. We worked closely to translate that thinking into a brand system that could evolve alongside each new collection without losing its sense of cohesion.
Rachel is also an illustrator, which became an important part of the direction. We brought elements of her drawings into the identity, developing them into textures and subtle brand details that could live across different touchpoints. This was paired with a colour palette drawn directly from her work, layering warm clay tones, soft pastels and deeper earthy shades to create a sense of depth and connection.
The result is a brand that feels calm, considered and closely tied to the work itself. Nothing feels over-designed or imposed. Instead, the identity creates space for the ceramics to lead, while quietly supporting the world Rachel is building around them.
